Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. Taylor Swift was born on the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for the past 20 years. The stories she tells of her young love and heartbreak has earned her the acclaim of many during the 21st Century. Swift showed an interest in music from a young age, and quickly moved from roles in theatre for children to her first appearance before an audience of tens of thousands. She was age 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and the following year she picked up the guitar and began to write songs. Swift was inspired by artists who played country music, like Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks to come up with original songs that reflected the loneliness she experienced by 13 years old. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania in order to relocate into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to wooing labels from the country near Nashville.
